Though we have had to cancel many events on our spring choral performance calendar, there are many events to look forward to in the 2020-21 academic year! Explore our updates on this year and plans for next year below:

April:   All events cancelled
3rd-4th - Vienese Ball - Davies Student Center - 6:30pm
  • Travel with us for a two-night adventure to Vienna, Austria... not really. With the transformation of the student center, you would believe that you traveled right from Wisconsin to Austria. Filled with dancing, drinking, music, and more, this excursion to Vienna will be the best ball this side of the Atlantic. Gemücklikeit! Tickets will be made available at a later date.
19th - Concert Choir [AND] Women's Concert Chorale - Gantner Concert Hall - 2:00pm
  • ​​Concert Choir and Women's Concert Chorale take the stage in a concert that will be sure to show what choral excellence means. In this concert, audiences will hear the power of UWEC choral ensembles as they collaborate on some of the classic, and contemporary, pieces of the choral repertoire. Tickets will be made available at a later date.
20th - Women's Chorus Concert - Gantner Concert Hall - 5:00pm
  • The Women's Chorus ends their 2019-20 season with one final Spring Concert. Empowering women through music, Women's Chorus works to advocate for strong female involvement through performance of empowering repertoire. Tickets will be made available at a later date.

3rd - The Singing Statesmen Spring Concert - Gantner Concert Hall - 5:00pm
  • The pinnacle for the Statesmen 2019-20 season is this Spring concert which combines the vast amount of work and dedication that this men's ensemble has worked for all year long. This event often sells out, so get your tickets in advance, and be prepared to be amazed, once again, by UWEC's choral excellence. Tickets will be made available at a later date.
10th - Choral Union Concert - Pablo Center at the Confluence - 3:00pm
  • A Celebration of American Choral Composers is the conclusion to the 2019-20 season for the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire choral department. Featuring the works of Robert A. Harris and John Corigliano, the university choirs and University Symphony Orchestra collaborate with pieces from the contemporary choral tradition. Tickets will be made available at a later date.

September
2nd - Voice and Choral Area Kick-off - Gantner Concert Hall - 5:00pm
  • Come and meet all of the faculty and staff in the Voice and Choral Area at the University
5th - Choral Area Retreat - Davies Student Center/Haas Fine Arts - 8:00am-9:00pm
  • ​​An opportunity for all students involved in choral ensembles at the University to meet each other while laying the foundation and groundwork necessary for choral collaboration
October
2nd - Varsity Night Live - Zorn Arena - 7:00pm
  • This campus-wide event affords several choral ensembles the opportunity to show UWEC what the choral department has to offer. In this exciting performance, students will be exposed to numerous acts and groups that will leave them wanting more. Features The Singing Statesmen. Tickets will be made available at a later date.
18th-20th - Women's Concert Chorale Fall Regional Tour - Chicago Area
  • Every year, UWEC sends one of its 3 touring ensembles to perform in regions away from the Chippewa Valley. This year, the Women's Concert Chorale will travel to the Chicago Area and perform in a number of venues, as well as collaborate with local high school programs. If you are interested in having the Women's Concert Chorale perform/clinic with your group, contact Frank Watkins at watkinfa@uwec.edu.
18th-20th - The Singing Statesmen Fall Regional Tour - La Crosse Area
  • Every year, UWEC sends one of its 3 touring ensembles to perform in regions away from the Chippewa Valley. This year, the Singing Statesmen will travel to the greater La Crosse Area and perform in a number of venues, as well as collaborate with local high school programs. If you are interested in having the Singing Statesmen perform/clinic with your group, contact Chris McGinley at mcginlcg@uwec.edu.
23rd - A Cappella Extravaganza - Schofield Auditorium - 7:30pm
  • This thrilling performance begins the annual Clearwater Choral Festival Tradition, a two-day event that has played an active role in the development of the UWEC Choral Department and the surrounding communities. In this performance, audience members will witness the collaboration of all UWEC A Cappella has to offer; a must-see show for any age group. 24th - Clearwater Choral Festival Concert - Pablo Center at the Confluence Center - 1:15pm & 7:00pm
  • ​​A staple of the UWEC Choral Tradition is the Clearwater Choral Festival. For one Saturday a year, High School students from all over the Chippewa Valley and the State of Wisconsin, meet to collaborate in a festival choir opportunity. After spending the day learning and perfecting choral music, the festival choir gets the opportunity to take the stage with the esteemed UWEC choral ensembles. 25th - Concert Choir [AND] Novum Voce Fall Concert - Gantner Concert Hall - 2:00pm
  • Novum Voce, or "a new voice" as it means in Latin, combines the characteristics of the typical chamber ensemble with vibrant and new styles of music, ranging from the Renaissance Era, to more contemporary works. Features Novum Voce. Tickets will be made available at a later date.
28th-31st - Wisconsin Music Educators Convention - Monona Terrace, Madison
  • The annual convention for Wisconsin Music Educators is where UWEC students and staff go to contribute to the dialogue of Music Pedagogy. UWEC brings its musical excellence to Madison each year. For more information about the convention, click here to go to the WMEA website.
November
7th-8th - Wisconsin State Chapter NATS Auditions - All Day
  • ​Outstanding vocal musicians from all over Wisconsin meet for two days of excellent dolo performances of classic operas and musicals. Throughout this two-day event, students will compete to advance to the finals to display their talents and work as professional musicians.
13th - The Singing Statesmen Fall Concert - Gantner Concert Hall - 7:30pm
  • Returning from tour, the nationally recognized all-male ensemble, The Singing Statesmen, take to the stage to perform collegiate and professional levels of music. Filled with audience favorites, cherished classics, and modern marvels, The Singing Statesmen will surely have you clapping your hands and stomping your feet.Tickets will be made available at a later date.
15th - Symphonic Choir Fall Concert - Gantner Concert Hall - 2:00pm
  • Our Symphonic Choir is comprised of UWEC students and community members. The ensemble performs major symphonic works in collaboration with our university's Symphony Orchestra. Tickets will be made available at a later date. 
22nd - Choral Area Showcase - Pablo Center at the Confluence - 2:00pm
  • "Wisconsin's Singing University" invites you to join us for an evening of choral excellence that will feature all of the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire choral ensembles. This performance provides our community with a unique opportunity to hear the continued legacy of choral music at UWEC. Tickets will be made available at a later date.
23rd - Women's Chorus [AND] Women's Concert Chorale - Ganter Concert Hall - 7:30pm
  • The strongest treble groups in Western Wisconsin are here to bring trouble with a performance that will showcase the power of the treble voice. The Women's Chorus and Women's Concert Chorale stand side-by-side in concert and side-by-side in song. Tickets will be made available at a later date.
December
6th - Holiday Concerts - Pablo Center at the Confluence - 2:00pm & 5:00pm
  • The university is proud to present a concert that aims at collaboration between a variety of ensembles for the annual Holiday Concert. Recently performed in Zorn Arena, UWEC is proud to host the first annual Holiday Concert at the Confluence in an effort to truly bridge the university with the local arts scene of Eau Claire. Features Women's Chorus, Concert Choir, Novum Voce, Women's Concert Chorale, The Singing Statesmen, Symphonic Choir, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Orchestra, and more. 21st - Middle School Honor Choir Festival - Gantner Concert Hall - 8:00am-6:00pm
  • Back for its third year, the Middle School Honor Choir Festival awards middle-level students (6-8) the opportunity to participate in a festival choir experience. For the 2019-20 season, UWEC is excited to welcome Dr. Kyle Zeuch as the guest clinician. For more information, visit our Middle School Clearwater Festival Page. 28th-30th - Cabaret LI - Davies Student Center - 7:30pm
  • As one of UWEC's proudest productions, Cabaret is entirely student-run, from the music arrangers, to the singers and dancers, and even the orchestra. This show will is sure to have you dancing from your chairs, singing out loud, and applauding for more, more, and more! Tickets will be made available at a later date.
February

9th - Clearwater Choral Invitational - Gantner Concert Hall - All Day
  • We are excited to host the Clearwater Choral Invitational which will feature an entire day of choirs from all across the region. Each choir will get the opportunity to perform and clinic with a renowned choral conductor. The guest clinician for the 2021 Festival will be released soon.
11-13th - Concert Choir Tour - Minneapolis Area
  • Every year, UWEC sends one of its 3 touring ensembles to perform in regions away from the Chippewa Valley. This year, our Concert Choir will travel to the Minneapolis Area and perform in a number of venues, as well as collaborate with local high school programs. If you are interested in having Concert Choir perform/clinic with your group, contact Frank Watkins at watkinfa@uwec.edu.
16th-18th - Artist-in-Residence, Corrine Duffy - Gantner Concert Hall - 7:30pm
  • Each year, UWEC choral students get the opportunity to work with a deeply established figure in the modern music scene. This year, UWEC Choirs are proud to host composer and conductor Corrine Duffy.  In this 3-day collaborative event, choirs will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with Hagen, singing music, asking questions, and immersing themselves in the choral music of Duffy. Features Concert Choir, Women's Chorus, Women's Concert Chorale, The Singing Statesmen and Symphonic Choir. For more information, visit our Artist-in-Residence Page. 22nd-26th - New York Immersion
  • Every year, the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire takes a number of students to New York City for an immersion trip that seeks to help students make connections with various agencies and institutions. This trip aims to integrate students into the professional life of a musician through performances at local venues and other opportunities.
