AUDITION FOR FALL 2024
* Complete the Enrollment Form to give us your information and select when you would like to audition.
After submitting your audition form...
Save the Audition Schedule link and doublecheck your date/time before your audition. Please prepare the provided excerpt for your audition.
On your audition date...
Please report to Dr. Watkins' office HFA 253 8 minutes
prior to your scheduled time.
Audition Procedure
1) Vocalizing to hear your range, timbre, agility, etc.
2) Tonal memory exercises
3) Sight singing
4) Prepared excerpt -- you'll be given the starting pitch and then sing a cappella
5) Solo singing (usually Happy Birthday or something from Private Voice Lessons if applicable)

Concert Choir • MUSI 188/388 • MWF 12-12:50pm, TTh 12:30-1:20pm

Concert Choir has a long-standing tradition of choral excellence at UW-Eau Claire. This 70-member mixed (SATB) ensemble prides itself on performing advanced repertoire from all periods, styles and genres of music. Throughout its history, Concert Choir has performed at regional and national conventions. Most recently, the ensemble performed at the 2020 ACDA North Central and Central Regional Convention in Milwaukee, WI.

Women's Concert Chorale • MUSI 192/392 • MTWTh 2-2:50pm

Women’s Concert Chorale is a 60-member treble ensemble that specializes in the study and performance of repertoire written specifically for women’s voices. Women’s Concert Chorale is featured at several concerts throughout the year, including the annual Viennese Ball. The ensemble has been featured at numerous regional and national conventions and tours annually in the Upper Midwest. In 2017, the ensemble toured Central Europe.

The Singing Statesmen • MUSI 191/391 • TTh 3-4:50pm

The Singing Statesmen is one of the premiere TTBB ensembles in the United States. The Statesmen perform at several concerts throughout the year and tour the Upper Midwest annually. The ensemble has been featured at a number of regional and national conventions, most recently at the Wisconsin Music Educators Convention (2015) and the Intercollegiate Male Chorus Convention (2016). In 2017, the ensemble toured Central Europe.

Novum Voce • MUSI 262/462 • MWF 1-1:50PM

Novum Voce is the newest choral ensemble at UW-Eau Claire. The 30-member mixed (SATB) chamber ensemble performs a wide-variety of music from the Renaissance through the Contemporary Periods. The ensemble performs at several departmental concerts, including A Cappella Extravaganza and the Holiday Concert.

SYMPHONIC CHOIR • MUSI 190/390 • TTH 6-7:30PM
Symphonic Choir performs large masterworks with the University Symphony Orchestra annually. The 90-member ensemble is open to students across campus, as well as community members from the Greater Chippewa Valley.

TREBLE CHOIR • MUSI 193/393 • TTH 9:30-10:45AM
...is one of six choral ensembles at the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire and traditionally involves between 50-70 auditioned sopranos and altos from all academic disciplines with the philosophy that music learning and ensemble singing can be a tool for future success in any field. Above all, the choir strives for excellence in performance through the strength of their inclusive and dedicated student community.
